The Society and College of Radiologists In Guyana seek to promote evidence-based use of imaging to inform patient care and clinical decision making as well as to inform the general public on the benefits and risks associated with radiologic tests and procedures.

Currently there are approximately 14 practicing radiologists in Guyana. The residency program at the Georgetown Public Hospital residency program has graduated 5 radiologists in 2020 and 4 more radiologists in 2022. Locally trained radiologists now make up about 64% of all radiologists in Guyana.
